At Quince & Co., we are thrilled to introduce you to our latest labor of love – a yarn that’s been over three years in the making. Allow us to formally introduce Wren!
Wren is equal parts rugged and elegant. A soft and nubby blend of wool and organic cotton fiber, it’s an ideal choice for a wide variety of projects, combining the strength and versatility of wool with the airy softness of cotton. Springy and plush, it knits up between 4.75 and 5 stitches per inch and is a two-ply DK weight, perfect for layering pieces in all seasons.
Because wool and cotton take dye differently, Wren’s woolen-spun blend of 60% American wool and 40% Texas organic cotton produces the yarn’s stunning tweed-like effect. Unlike industrially-farmed cotton, Wren’s refined upland cotton is 100% organic, sourced from a coop of family farmers in Texas committed to growing cotton in a way that dramatically reduces environmental impact. With its cozy softness and tweedy texture, this luxurious workhorse yarn will quickly become the go-to skein in your crafting basket. Wren is our next chapter in providing high-quality yarns that are wonderful to use, sustainably sourced and organically farmed.
